What Does this blood Test Result Mean?
Hi, my son age is 13 and half year . He is excellent in studies. He is suffering from Cough from the last 8 to 9 months. we treated him from several doctors but his cough is not cure especially while sleeping he cough with broncho voice. His cough is plain, but with large sound. Yesterday our doctor suggested to take some test and an X-Ray. His Complete Blood Reports and Calcium Reports.
His Hematology Report values are:
Hb Value= 12.6 g/dl
Total RBC= 4.3 x10^12/l
Monocytes=10 %
Eosinophils=10 %
Our Doctor says, that Eosinophils and Monocytes are on High Elevated - WHY ?
He give following medicine / prescription:
Tablet Mefoxin . Half Daily
Syrup Britanyl(terbutaline Sulphate), One tablespoon 3 times daily
Tablet Montika 10mg , One tablet Daily.
Syrup Zirtek(allergy Syrup), One tablespoon , in night
Syrup HepaMerz, Two spoon, 3 times daily , 1+1+1
Please tell me that why my doctor gave the Syrup of Hepamerz to my son, because as we were visiting doctors for the Cure of Cough. I am now worried about my son. His physical appearence is good. His health is also normal, his weight is normal , not so much health but normal. He took First position in his class. He is 7th Class Student.

First of all diagnostic findings of blood test of your son is increased number of monocytes & eosinophils. Haemglobin is slightly low & RBC count is normal.
Eosinophils are elevated in body in allergy based diseases such as allergic rhinitis, asthma, etc & parasitic infestations. So the cough your son is having should be of allergic cause. Therby your physician has given your son terbutaline Sulphate syrup, Montelukast Sodium Tablets( Montika 10mg) &
Zirtek syrup.
As per cause of elevation of monocyes, this is seen in chronic inflammation, immune mediated diseases, necrosis etc. There may be need for detoxification of body. HepaMerz syrup would help you in that.
